Lily sucked in her breath as she stood at the large, imposing building in front of her and bit her lip. Time to show them what she was made of she guessed. She didn't know what was ahead of her, but either way, she would see it to the end, come the end she wanted or not.
She had just gotten done from getting her examination and a clean bill of health. The day before, she had completed the written test and came out with one of the top scores. She was very satisfied with knowing that. Now, if only the interview and the practical exam went so swimmingly, she would be state alchemist in no time! She wasn't certain which part of the exam this was as of yet - behind those doors could be the practical exam or the interview - but she did know her nerves were on edge.
She stood, ready for when they called her. It certainly was hot, she thought, trying to come up with something good to get her through the practical in case this was it. Sometimes, they would skip the interview and leave it till last. Her heart beat fast in her chest. Whatever she chose, it would need to show beauty and strength to give her an edge over the competitors.
She was still standing quietly in thought when someone touched her shoulder and she spun around. The guard grunted and pointed through the large and almost dominant (if you could call a set of doors such!) doors which opened and she took the meaning immediately. She went inside, the shade much perferable than the hot, humid atmosphere outside. 'Its showtime!' she thought. Her small frame disappeared into the shadows of the building, the sunlight glinting on her fiery red hair, making it shine like bright copper, before it too disappeared. . .
